A Perfect Couta Wedding
It was a charming idea for a special day:
Queenscliff couta Boat Jadda C165 started her life in the 1930's as Jessie, when Peter Locke built her on Beach Street in Queenscliff and she became local fisherman Harry Mouchmore's first boat. She was renovated in 2010 and renamed after current owners Murray and Julie Mackay's daughter Jade. On 17 March 2012, after the wedding ceremony at St. George's Church in Queenscliff, Jade and her husband Aaron Cole boarded the family's couta boat near the Swan Island bridge and were taken by Jade's parents to the wedding reception at 360Q at the Queenscliff Harbour.
Couta boat Defiance C136 was ferrying the bridesmaids and groomsmen - this time not in racing mode but following at a sedate pace.
It was a pretty sight, and cheers from visitors in the harbour followed them down the Cut.
